Just how hard is it – really - to bring the magic of AI to your APEX applications? You might be surprised. The APEX team’s latest demos make AI look waaaay cool and super easy to implement. Is it really that simple? How hard can it be?

This session will answer those questions, providing essential details, prerequisites, and how-to guidance for incorporating AI into your APEX apps. We'll explore various AI options, including Generative AI, Select AI, and any additional AI options available at presentation time. Using a simple database schema as an example, we'll address such challenges as:
  • How to get started?
  • How to teach AI to understand my schema?
  • Do large language models (LLMs) recognize my domain-specific language right away?
  • What exactly is a prompt, and how to create an effective one?
  • How simple, or elaborate, does my system prompt need to be?
  • Do I need to train my own LLM to get useful results based on my data?
