Oracle Database 23ai introduces new features for pluggable databases (PDBs), enhancing options for both cloud and on-premises environments. This session provides a deep dive into multitenant architecture, covering key concepts of container databases (CDB) and PDBs, their unique value, and how to manage shared and exclusive components. We’ll also explore methods for accessing and managing CDBs/PDBs and outline migration paths from earlier versions to 12c and 23ai.
Advanced features from Oracle 12c R2 and 23ai will be covered, including PDB relocation, lockdown profiles, memory and I/O prioritization, and snapshot carousel. New 23ai capabilities—Control PDB Open Order, Hybrid Read-Only Mode for PDBs, and Refreshable PDBs in DBCA—will be highlighted, demonstrating how Oracle Database 23ai provides greater flexibility, control, and efficiency in multitenant environments.
